Caleb Stewart (June 2005-September 2007)

Caleb After 27 months in the Peace Corps Caleb joined Khom Loy as Peter's successor. As Managing Director he oversaw the transition from an eight person project to a 22 member Thai Foundation, directing all the necessary developments and administrative/accounting structures incumbent in that transition.




 
Peter O'Brien (March 2004-June 2005)

PeterPeter played a integral role in the beginnings of Khom Loy. He developed excellent Thai language skills while volunteering with Peace Corps in Petchabun, Thailand and then used those skills to assist Paul in hiring Khom Loy's first staff members and developing it's initial management structure. He oversaw the start of the Agriculture, Montessori and Handicrafts projects.

 
 
 
Siriwan(Joom) Nakkam (November 2004-July 2005)

JoomJoom was KL's first office and accounting officer.  She also played a crucial role in the early development of our Handicrafts project.

 
 
 
 

Bunjama - Agriculture Project Manager (November 2004-January 2005)

BunjamaBunjama, as KL's first agriculture manager, joined Yote to complete coffee and tea pilot projects, our first fish ponds and multiple village water systems.

 
 
 
 
Alexandra Dendle - Montessori Volunteer (November 2004-January 2005)

Alexandra Alexandra, as KL's first Montessori volunteer, ran a training for teachers from Sahasat Suksa School, and area child development centers from both the local government authority of Mae Yao and the hilltribe welfare center. She also assisted the teachers and children in the classroom and helped develop new materials.

 
 
 
Jeff Claire - Handicraft Manager (May 2005-October 2005)

Jeff Jeff developed a line of high quality cushion covers mixing hill tribe designs with western tastes.

Bubpachart - Administrative Assistant (June 2005-October 2005)

B Bubpachart organized many of the administrative systems as we moved from the Mirror Art Group Foundation to the Foudation for an Evolving Society.

 
 
 
  
Jessica Ferruzzi - Handicraft Manager (August 2005-August2006)

JessicaJessica first joined the Khom Loy Project staff as a special fundraiser for a local orphanage and then later became our handicraft project manager. Jessica streamlined and organized our Handicraft project organizing, reshaping and directing all the work done before her. She also partnered with Margarett Jamison and the Chiang Rung Women's Cooperative to develop a beautiful line of scarves and shawls.

 
 
Jan Cook - Montessori Trainer Volunteer (October 2005-June 2006)

JanJan graduated from Toronto Montessori Teachers Training Institute in 2001 and has five years experience as a Montessori teacher in Stratford, ON Canada. She trained Waew in Montessori methods and helped set-up, organize, and advance the classroom at Huay Mae Sai Child Development Center.

 
 
 
Moira Diana - Montessori Consultant/Trainer Volunteer (June 2006-September 2006)

MoiraMoira earned her Montessori qualification from  Wimbledon College and later served as the Montessori Directress of several schools in England and Nepal. During her sabbital she traveled to Chiangrai to offer her expertise to the KLDF Montessori project. Moira assisted in the training of new staff and local teachers, teaching children as well as evaluating each classroom and the project as a whole, providing invaluable expert advise.

 
 
Ms. Phawantree(Waew) Pakirana - Montessori Project Assistant Manager (September 2005-September 2006)

WaewWaew graduated with honours from the Rajabhat Chiang Rai in Business English. She was trained in the Montessori method by Jan Cook. Together with Jan she oversaw our expansion into Huay Mae Sai Child Development Center. She also handled the project accounts and assisted in the interviewing and hiring of 4 new Montessori Project co-teachers.




Wendy Firlotte - One Village Project Manager (May - December 2005)Wendy

Wendy used her experience from four years of international development work in Southeast Asia and her Master's degree in Sustainable Development to conduct research and development for our potential vocational training project.





Pisamai Gangwansila (Lek) - Montessori Teacher - (April 2006 - April 2007) Lek

Lek graduated from the Chiangrai Rajabhat University in 2005 with a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. She is from the Karen village of Tung Praow. Lek trained and helped assist at Sahasat school and then helped open our Montessori classroom at JaTaw Child Development Center.
